fated night when I was 13, my parents were out to dinner and I decided to pick up my Dad’s guitar and teach myself how to play. “How hard could it be?” I asked myself. Turns out - not that hard for some chords, but next level hard for others. Full disclosure, I still to this day can’t figure out how to do the F chord. That is some serious sorcery.

Full disclosure, I still to this day can’t figure out how to do the F chord. That is some serious sorcery.
But, that was the night I taught myself how to play guitar: just enough chords to write songs. I wrote my first little album called “Where the Trees Sing” and recorded it in a studio when I was 14! I performed the songs at the Children’s Hospital and made all my teachers and friends CD’s. I had six years of piano lessons and a profound connection with music to back me.

though: even if you consciously give up on them they’re still buried deep. After a wild series of circumstances, including bribery by my best friend Ankita (an Anthropologie candle in exchange for covering a Taylor Swift song) and a random invitation to sing at a bar in the East Village on Dec 4, 2021 (the day of the Sagittarius solar eclipse - and I’m a Sag moon/rising) - I felt empowered again to write a song. So I kicked off 2022 by sitting down at my new little keyboard piano…. And my debut single, “Worth the Flight,” POURED out of me like it had been in me all along.

With my friends’ encouragement, I recorded a video to share on Instagram of the song - and let me just say, it takes a LOT to make me sweat, but the level of nerves as I pressed “post” made me sweat a BUCKET (I was tapping and trying to steady my breathing the entire time!). To my complete and total surprise, the response was overwhelming. The number of requests for me to put the song on Spotify/Apple Music healed my little music heart and made the next step very clear: I needed to find a producer and a recording studio.

friends and on my IG story, I was turning up empty-handed on finding a studio/producer. It was time to surrender it to the Universe. And as most blessings come, this one came in an unexpected way. I was out to dinner with my best friend Ankita and her dear friend/co-worker Kai, and Kai asked how I’d been. I mentioned in passing this new chapter of my life that was unfolding, and how I was now on the hunt for a studio/producer - thinking absolutely NOTHING of it.

Kai puts her fork down and says, “Oh, I actually have a credit for a recording studio because I did a modeling gig for them. And they have in-house producers who you can hire.” My jaw dropped. I looked up the studio, and a producer named Ethan Porter caught my eye. I checked out his Instagram… and he had a story highlight on his page labeled “623.”
Ethan is now my producer and brings all my songs to life in the most amazing and beautiful ways! Worth the Flight came out on May 27th, 2021 - and its acoustic version (which, tbh, is my favorite) came out by popular demand (ah!) on August 12th.
My newest single is called “Gray”. I wrote this one a cappella after Worth the Flight, and now it gets its moment to shine! It’s an acoustic, rom-com feel and is about learning to trust again in a new relationship - choosing to see in color, rather than always staying gray, pessimistic, and withdrawn. It’s the ultimate song about healing and starting again.
And, I’ll conclude 2022 - the year I really took my big dream seriously - with a powerful ballad about going after your dreams/believing in yourself. I can’t wait for you to hear it.
